🧭 Measure Your Space

Grab a tape measure and note down your room’s length and width in metres.
Multiply them together to find the square-metre area:

Length × Width = Area (sqm)

Example:
A kitchen measuring 4 m × 5 m = 20 sqm of floor area.

Tips:

Note down the room & area (sqm) – this will be useful during the quote.
Multiple skylights can be used to cover larger areas.

📍Choose the Best Position

Ideally, your skylight should sit centrally in the ceiling for even brightness. But you can adjust the location to suit your room’s design and existing fittings:

Avoid pendant lights, ceiling fans, or vents.
Place the skylight between key features — for example, between an island bench and the cooktop in your kitchen.
Match the skylight’s shape to your room layout (e.g. rectangular skylights suit long, narrow kitchens).

🎛️ Decide on a remote for your solar skylight

In some rooms it might be ideal to be able to turn off or dim the skylight on bright days.

For example if the change in brightness is disturbing someone, dimming the skylight can increase the consistency of the light output.

If you want to watch a movie in the dark or on a projector and there’s a skylight nearby, you can turn it off.

If the skylight has been turned off or dimmed, you can return it back to normal operation at anytime or it will return back to normal operation the next morning on its own.
